Vehicle knocks down utility pole in Cary

A portion of South Harrison Avenue in Cary was closed Monday afternoon after a vehicle knocked down a utility pole, town spokeswoman Susan Moran said.

CARY, N.C. — A portion of South Harrison Avenue in Cary was closed Monday afternoon after a vehicle knocked down a utility pole, town spokeswoman Susan Moran said.

A vehicle struck a utility pole near 422 S. Harrison Ave. at about 4:30 p.m., Moran said, causing the pole to fall across the road between Dry Avenue and Page Street.

Traffic was diverted for a short time while the road was cleared.
