Two Wake Forest men face 63 charges in vehicle break-in cases
Wake Forest Police announced Friday that they have filed 63 charges against two men in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins that happened around town in April and May.
Posted — UpdatedDave McCants, 20, and Timothy Hardy, 16, both of 213 N. Allen Road, Apt. 148, were each charged with more than 30 assorted counts of burglary, felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle.
Hardy has also been charged with one count of simple larceny.
Both men were being held in the Wake County Jail. McCants was being held under a $600,000 secured bond, while Hardy was being held under a $575,000 secured bond.
Police say the young men, who mainly targeted unlocked vehicles, were riding stolen bicycles when they committed many of the crimes.
The crime spree was thwarted on May 19 when Officer S. Woods, while on foot patrol in the vicinity of Massey Apartments, identified three bicycles behind the suspects’ apartment that had been reported stolen earlier that day, police said.
