CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Two North Carolina Central University football players are among three men being sought in a May 8 purse-snatching, authorities said.

Warrants charging common-law robbery have been issued against Ricky Michael Edwards, 18, Littbarski S. Blackwood, 19, and Robert Christopher Williams, 19, police said.

Edwards and Blackwood play football at N.C. Central.

Police said the charges stem from a May 8 incident on Fordham Boulevard in which a woman said four men grabbed her purse as she was walking into a Borders bookstore. The men fled in a 1999 Lexus sedan, police said.

A fourth suspect in the case, Dennis Morris Jenkins, 19, was arrested Tuesday, police said.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Edwards, Blackwood or Williams is asked to call the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
