Two men sought after dead dogs dumped in Granville County

The Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society and Granville County Spare Virtual Shelter are offering a $2,000 reward to catch two men who were seen dumping the bodies of three young pit bull terriers on a rural road in the county Friday.

OXFORD, N.C. — The Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society and Granville County Spare Virtual Shelter are offering a $2,000 reward to catch two men who were seen dumping the bodies of three young pit bull terriers on a rural road in the county Friday.

A Ruin Creek volunteer witnessed the men discarding some items on Gray Rock Road and went to investigate, according to the group. The volunteer found the dogs' bodies and contacted the Granville County Sheriff's Department.

The men were driving a black or blue older model Mercedes with dark tinted windows. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 919-693-3213.
