PINEHURST, N.C. — Two men have been arrested for a string of incidents where car windows were broken in Pinehurst, police said Tuesday.

Police stopped a vehicle Monday for running a stop sign. During the stop, two air pistols were discovered in the glove box, and carbon dioxide canisters and a BB rifle were found in the trunk, Capt. Floyd Thomas said.

The driver, Cameron Robert Tysinger, 20, of Aberdeen, and passenger Devon Michael Brady, 20, of Ridgewood Road, were arrested. Thomas said the two men admitted to shooting out car windows.

Police have received 32 reports of car windows shot out in the Burning Tree Road and Pinehurst Lake area since Aug. 1, Thomas said.
