Two die in separate crashes in Greenville

Greenville police are investigating two separate crashes over the weekend that left two men dead.

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Greenville police said Monday they are investigating two separate crashes over the weekend that left two men dead.

The first happened shortly before midnight Saturday on Memorial Drive. Police said Michael Patrick Taylor, 43, was driving a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle when he was struck by another vehicle.

Taylor died from injuries sustained in the crash. No charges have been filed in the investigation, which is ongoing.

The second crash happened Sunday. Police said Francisco Javier Valarezoasanz, 18, was driving a 1996 BMW north on County Home Road about 1:30 a.m. when he collided head-on with another vehicle.

Valarezoasanz died from his injuries.

Greenville police said they will release more information when it becomes available.
