DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police said Friday that they have arrested two men and are looking for a third in connection with recent shootings at an apartment complex.

No one was injured in either case, both of which occurred in a courtyard at 2112 Broad St., but bullets did damage two occupied apartments during one of the shootings.

Investigators believe that one, on July 10, was in retaliation for another one that happened on July 4.

George Jamal McFadden Jr., 22, of 2112 Broad St., and David Cortez McMillan, 20, of 2306 Lednum St. were arrested Thursday.

Breon Jerrard Beatty, 23, of 2526 N. Roxboro St., is still at large.

He is wanted on one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of discharging a weapon into occupied property, one count of going armed to the terror of the public and two counts of discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Anyone with information on Beatty’s whereabouts is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4582, extension 29241, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

McMillan was charged with felony assault on a child under 12, discharging a firearm into occupied property, going armed to the terror of the public and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

He was placed in Durham County jail Friday under a $500,000 bond.

McFadden was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, discharging a firearm within the city limits, possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

He was also charged with a count of robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with a June 8 crime.

McFadden was in the Durham County jail Friday under a $350,000 bond.
