Two charged in 2008 Henderson home invasion
A federal grand jury has indicted two more men in connection with a 2008 home invasion in which a Henderson man was shot, according to court documents.

Ernest Augustus Hawkins, 33, of 1753 Old Norlina Road, and Reginald Love Brown, 35, face federal charges of conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery, Hobbs Act robbery and possessing firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence. The U.S. Hobbs Act refers to robberies that affect interstate commerce.
Police said that Hawkins was arrested Tuesday and placed in federal custody. Brown was already in state prison, serving time on assault charges in an unrelated case, according state Department of Correction records.
The indictment states that Hawkins and Brown planned and participated in a home invasion at 615 Alexander Ave. in Henderson on May 20, 2008. The indictment accuses Brown of shooting Preston Williams in the chest. Police said that Williams and five other people were bound with duct tape.
Three other suspects – Fredrick Lamarca Hunt, Orlando Harris, 19, both of Oxford, and James Alvin Fisher, of Henderson – have pleaded guilty in connection with the robbery, according to court records. They were awaiting sentencing.
The robbery has been investigated jointly by Henderson police and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
