State troopers investigating the wreck said the transmission failed on the first vehicle, causing it to stop in the travel lane. The driver in the car behind ran into the stopped car.<br />

No one was injured in the wreck. The lane closure lasted for about an hour and produced delays of up to four miles on I-85.<br />

Traffic had resumed its normal flow by 5 p.m., troopers said.
