Two arrested in separate Durham shootings

Durham police arrested two men Wednesday wanted in connection with separate shootings in the past two weeks.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police arrested two men Wednesday wanted in connection with separate shootings in the past two weeks. 

Michael Maurice Gill, 19, of Bacon Street, was taken into custody on Dayton Street. He is charged with felony conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon in a May 3 shooting on Liberty Street that sent a man to the hospital. 

Gill was in the Durham County jail Thursday under a $225,000 bond. 

Police on Wednesday also arrested Calvin Montrell Harris, 27, of Kingston Mill Court, in connection with a May 5 shooting on South Elm Street. 

Harris is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He was in the Durham County jail Thursday under a $1 million bond.
