Two arrested for burglary, shooting gun in Roanoke Rapids

Two men were arrested Sunday morning on charges of burglary and shooting a gun in Roanoke Rapids.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — Two men were arrested Sunday morning on charges of burglary and shooting a gun.

Seqwaun Hawkins, 21, and Semajs Short, 16, both of Roanoke Rapids, were each charged with first degree burglary and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling. The arrests were in relation to an incident early Sunday morning in the area of Key Street in Roanoke Rapids.

Both were each given a $10,000 bond. Their first court appearance is Jan. 29.

Investigators said more charges may be pending.
