FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police busted a woman for running an unlicensed bar Friday evening and, in removing her customers, found a man wanted for other crimes.

Police were tipped off that Mary Etta Higgins, 67, was illegally operating a bar at 2207 Nickey Ave. There they found her serving drinks to several people. A second search, of Higgins' home at 4405 Coral Court, turned up another bar. In all, police confiscated money, 17 bottles of liquor and 105 cans of beer.

They charged her with sale and possession of non-tax paid liquor and selling without a permit.

Cordelius Wilkerson, 38, of Fontana Street in Fayetteville, was drinking at the Nickey Avenue location when police arrived, and they discovered that he was wanted for failure to return rental property and resisting arrest.
