Tuesday Wrap: Finally some action
After several days of little action in the General Assembly, lawmakers finally voted Tuesday on several pieces of legislation.
Posted — UpdatedMind you, the pending veto override vote in the House languished on the floor calendar for a fourth day Tuesday. Still, the so-called "biscuit bill," which would allow convenience stores that serve food to install seating, cleared the House and is headed back to the Senate for a final vote. The House also approved a measure that would prohibit cities and town from dictating the appearance of new single-family homes, and that measure now heads to Gov. Pat McCrory.
House committees also passed a bill that would allow people in the U.S. illegally to obtain limited driving privileges and the latest Farm Act, which would allow an expansion of deer farming in North Carolina.
