Trio beat, rob man in Burlington motel parking lot

Victim told police woman approached him to chat, then two men beat and robbed him.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington police are investigating an assault and robbery that happened early Thursday at a Motel 6.

Officers were dispatched about 12:15 a.m. to the motel at 2155 Hanford Road, where they found a 42-year-old Burlington man with minor injuries.

The man told police he was talking with a woman who approached him in the parking lot when two men appeared, demanding money.

The victim said the men began beating him with a blunt object, forced him to the ground and stole his cash. The men and the woman then got into a small black car and drove towards Maple Avenue.

The assailants were described as a black man with short hair wearing a red T-shirt; a black man with long hair wearing a white T-shirt and red hat; and a white woman about 18 to 20 years old with long blond hair, wearing a green dress.
