RALEIGH, N.C.Triangle Restaurant Week is a deal by any definition. Three-course meals for a flat rate make it easy to sample a lot of what any one location has to offer. It's hard to choose just one, or two, or even three.

One way to maximize your options is to choose to dine at restaurants offering their deals at the low end of the price range. For $20 you can eat large at these locations:

518 West on Glenwood South is always a favorite for a right-priced touch of Italian. The decor is just nice enough to make this a perfect date night or business lunch. The chicken Parmesan and lasagna on the TRW menu offer a nice comfort food antidote to wintry weather.
Shrimp and Grits from NoFo
Nofo at the Pig is a down-home delight where you can shop and dine on Southern faves. Their $20 TRW menu includes both the fried green tomatoes BLT and shrimp and grits. Yes, you can get both of those and still choose a dessert!
Continue the shop-and-dine combo at Zest Cafe & Home Art in north Raleigh. The venue is as described, a carefully curated home goods boutique with a side of fresh, locally sourced meals.
I was bummed to see that Tribeca Tavern on Falls of Neuse didn't include their excellent burgers on the TRW menu. But it's worth pushing beyond the usual to start with their guacamole and end up on the big bad butterscotch brownie.

Finally, Sitti is made for sampling and they do restaurant week proud. Point to dishes you may not be able to pronounce and depend on their friendly, informed servers to steer you into some new tastes.
