RALEIGH, N.C. — First up this week - food trucks!
Anthony and Leslee Greenup will be holding a launch party for their food truck - Baton Rouge Cuisine on Saturday in Creedmoor. The party is from noon to 4 p.m. at the Creedmoor Activity Center (behind CVS). The event will include a bounce house, gym, food and fun. Some of their menu items include boudin, Cajun etouffee, red beans and fried chicken. They also have some regular gigs lined up in Cary, Raleigh and Durham.
We also just found out about a new cupcake truck - Not Just Icing! Great name! It is so new, we don't have much info about them. We will keep you posted!
Amante Pizza has closed its north Raleigh location on Falls of Neuse Road, according to the company. Their other stores in Cary, Carroboro, Durham and Morrisville remain open.
Fuhgeddaboudit Pizza in Cary has now become Camos Brothers Pizza. According to a post on the Camos Brothers' Facebook page, the Cary location is owned and operated by the only original founder of Fuhgeddaboudit Pizza.
Blog New Raleigh is reporting that the founding co-chef of The Admiral in Asheville will be taking over the space formerly known as Market restaurant on North Blount Street in Raleigh. Drew Maykuth's new place, Stanbury, is expected to open on June 15. Market's new location off of East Franklin Street is expected to open this summer.
And one more piece of sweet news for this week. A new doughnut shop for downtown Raleigh is in the works. Donut Theory is expected to open in the Boylan Heights neighborhood this fall, according to their Yelp.com profile. The Independent Weekly reports that the store will offer a rotating list of 10 cake and yeast doughnuts.
