Triangle police fundraise to help families of fallen officers
A group of Triangle police officers are adding to their duty roster in hopes of helping families of fallen officers.

The group will join other officers across the country in the annual 250 miles that starts in Chesapeake, Va. and ends in Washington D.C.
“We bring roughly a thousand members together to unify and remember our fallen brothers and remember the surviving families they left behind,” said Sgt. Mark Faust with Duke police.
The money raised provides counseling and other services to families and children of fallen officers.
“It helps so much, just to know that there’s other people who have gone through what you’ve gone through and are there to support you and help you through your trials,” said the father of a fallen officer, William Schuck.
The goal for each rider is to raise a minimum of $1,500. This year’s fundraising bike ride is set for May 10 through May 12.
