Triangle restaurant news (Feb. 14, 2014)

RALEIGH, N.C. — Very excited to report that LaPlace Louisiana Cookery has opened its doors in Hillsborough. This restaurant is named after the owner Joe Tullos' hometown near New Orleans. I grew up in LaPlace as well and I can't wait to try out the homemade sausages and gumbo on the menu. They opened this week for dinner service. 

Great news for folks in Morrisville, Noodles and Company will be opening on Market Center Drive on Monday, according to Triangle Business Journal. 

New Raleigh and Triangle Food Guy are reporting that Indian restaurant Kabab and Curry has opened in the former home of Klara's on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh.

Triangle Food Guy is also reporting that a new pastry shop and cafe has opened off Creedmoor Road in Raleigh. Despina's Cafe has a European influence. Their menu includes muffins, sandwiches, quiche and desserts. 

Hibernian on Glenwood Avenue is expected to reopen soon. Another opening we are anticipating is Tazza Kittchen in the former home of Cafe Caturra in Cameron Village. Triangle Business Journal said Tazza is looking to open late this month. Staying in Cameron Village, TBJ says SushiGami is planning to reopen in March. 

A new independent coffee shop is coming to Seaboard Station. The Triangle Business Journal is reporting that BREW is in the works. The location would be sourcing most of their coffee from local roasters, including Raleigh Coffee Co., and plan to also sell beer - on draft and bottled. They hope to open in late spring.

More coffee news: North Raleigh retail wine and tasting shop Uncorked is teaming up with Benelux Cafe for a coffee bar inside the shop. 

The NCBeerGuys are reporting that Apex is getting a new brewery. Brueprint Brewing Company, located off of Penny Road, is hoping to open in April or May.

More beer news: Durham is getting a growler shop. Growler Gritz, which will be located on Hope Valley Road, plans to feature hard to find craft beers, according to The Herald Sun. The shop plans to open in March or April. 

The new Bass Pro Shop in Cary has postponed its opening this week due to the weather. No word on when they will be opening. 

One closing to report: The Epona and Oak boutique in downtown Raleigh's City Market is closing next month. They announced via Facebook that they would have having one last blowout First Friday sale on March 7. 

Another bit of fashion news, Scout and Molly's is leaving Cameron Village and moving to North Hills next month. This women's boutique is expected to open next month in a space near the Renaissance Hotel. Triangle Business Journal is reporting that Haley's Boutique will be leaving North Hills and moving into Scout and Molly's spot in Cameron Village. 

And one more piece of fashion news: Vineyard Vines clothing store is planning a North Hills location. Triangle Business Journal is reporting that they will be located near Firebirds.
