DESIGNATED SURVIVOR: Anthony Foxx, the secretary of transportation, was the cabinet member chosen NOT to attend the speech. The Cabinet member who is picked to be the "designated survivor" has a grim task: Stay away from the U.S. Capitol during the State of the Union address and be prepared to help run the government if a catastrophic event wipes out the government leaders who do attend.
AND THE DRESS: Michelle Obama wore a grey Michael Kors skirt suit to watch her husband's sixth State of the Union. You might also recognize the suit if you're a "Good Wife" fan.
