Food truck news: Travel Channel show features local food truck and builder

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina is featured on an upcoming episode of The Travel Channel's "BBQ Crawl." The show follows Danielle Dimovski (aka "Diva Q"), a former world champion of pork, as she travels the American south. The July 29 episode will feature Triangle mobile food builder Jack of All Trades, Korean BBQ fusion food truck BulKogi, Raleigh’s historic Clyde Cooper’s BBQ and Ed Mitchell, a well-known BBQ pitmaster. Charlotte’s Midwood Smokehouse will also appear in the episode, which airs at 11 p.m.

Raleigh Little Theatre will feature a movie every Sunday for the next few weeks. In addition to the feature film, a food truck will be onsite, too. Find a listing for each movie and food truck.
Chatham Street Chowdown is Sunday on Chatham Street around Academy Street and Harrison. The event will have 27 mobile food, local craft beer and wine vendors. This is an evening event starting at 5 p.m.
Sol Tacos is teaming up with Berkeley Cafe for a pop-up dinner service on Aug. 11. There will be house-made bread, appetizers, salads, entrees and desert in the food truck's local, seasonal Southern-Mex gourmet style. The full menu isn't out yet, but their popular buttermilk fried flounder will be served. You can reserve your spot now by calling 919-586-4673.
On Saturday, the Plantation Point Farmers' Market, 6250 Plantation Center Drive in Raleigh, will host a Peach Festival and Food Truck Rodeo from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting at 11 a.m., the first 100 guests will get free peach cobbler. Food trucks on hand will includeSarge’s Chef on Wheels, La Farm Bakery, Stuft Baked Potatoes, Chick-N-Que and Sonny Inc’s Southern Chicken, Shrimp & Fish Fry.
