Interstate 40 reopened after vehicle fire

Traffic is flowing on Interstate 40 again after a vehicle caught fire near near Aviation Parkway in Morrisville Friday evening.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Traffic is flowing on Interstate 40 again after a vehicle caught fire near near Aviation Parkway in Morrisville Friday evening.

State troopers said that a vehicle caught fire on I-40 East  around 5:15 p.m. More details haven't been released.

Traffic cameras show that all lanes in both directions have been reopened.

At one point, all lanes of I-40 were closed, and traffic delays extended past Harrison Avenue in Cary on I-40 West and past Hope Valley Road in Durham on I-40 East.
