The North Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on Airport Boulevard between N.C. Highway 54 and McCrimmon Parkway in Wake County beginning Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. until Monday, June 8 at 6 a.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on Airport Boulevard between N.C. Highway 54 and McCrimmon Parkway in Wake County beginning Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. until Monday, June 8 at 6 a.m.

During the shift, motorists traveling in both directions on Airport Boulevard will be shifted onto newly constructed lanes on the western side of the road.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route. The traffic shift is being performed as crews prepare to widen the existing roadway to five lanes of traffic.

Work on this project is scheduled to be complete in August.
