Traffic stop leads to car theft ring in Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A traffic stop led Fayetteville police to 14 motor vehicle thefts.

An officer pulled over a stolen vehicle on Feb. 8. Further investigation revealed multiple vehicles stolen between Jan. 17 and Feb. 8 that police say are linked to two men.

Ambrose Dumone Murray, 46, of 6116 Conaway Drive, and Jonathan Willie Covington, 35, of 916 Rexdale St., are both charged with 14 counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, 14 counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and 11 counts of conspiracy to commit motor vehicle theft.

Murray remained at the Cumberland County jail Wednesday on a $94,000 bond. Covington also remained at the jail on a $70,000 bond.
