American Tobacco Tower Lighting
It is time for Durham to light up for the holidays. The Lucky Strike Tower at the American Tobacco campus will be lit on Friday evening. The annual tower lighting is part of an evening of music and performances. This family-friendly event is free.
Santa Bar Crawl
Lazyday Raleigh his holding its 6th annual Santa Bar Crawl downtown on Friday night. Sign up is at Downtown Pub and Grill between 8 and 9:15 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door, but bring a toy donation and you get into all the stops for free. Lazyday is also hosting a Sinful Santa party at The Black Flower on Sunday night.
Raleigh Ringers Holiday concert
The Raleigh Ringers, an internationally-acclaimed handbell ensemble, will rock the Progress Energy Center for Performing Arts this weekend with shows Saturday and Sunday. Expect holiday favorites, several Trans-Siberian Orchestra selections and the premiere of The Raleigh Ringers' newest rock 'n roll piece. Advance tickets are $19 for adults and $17 for students and those 60 and older.
'A Christmas Carol'
Theatre In The Park's original musical comedy adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" opens at the Progress Energy Center this weekend. It runs through Tuesday, then plays Dec. 15-16 at the Durham Performing Arts Center. The show was voted one of the top 20 events in the Southeast and has toured France twice and England.
Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour of Homes
Raleigh's oldest intact 19th century neighborhood opens its doors for the 41st Annual Candlelight Tour of Home this weekend. This year's holiday event features 13 historic homes and significant structures decorated for the season. The annual tour benefits the Society for the Preservation of Historic Oakwood (SPHO), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the neighborhood. Tickets will be on sale days of the tour for $30 at The Oakwood Inn Bed & Breakfast.

Celebrity impressionist Melissa Villasenor wowed audiences on "America's Got Talent" last year and now she is taking her show on the road. She stops at Goodnight's in Raleigh this weekend.
