Don't click the link! Anyone can easily fall for a scam disguised as a legitimate bill.

Many people have said they ended up on a toll road and didn't even know it until they got a bill—a legit bill.

An email scam takes advantage of that.

People are getting emails saying they owe for using North Carolina’s Triangle Expressway toll road, and an invoice is attached.

It's a phishing ploy that's making the rounds again. It puts a virus on your computer, exposing personal information to ID thieves.

The scam's been reported in several states.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation said to be very suspicious whenever you get an email with a questionable bill.

If it looks legitimate, verify with the business before clicking anything or paying any money.

People continue to catch the viruses. Be sure to spread the word to family and friends, especially seniors.
