A young child was found dead at Fort Bragg over the weekend, but officials said they don't believe the death is linked to a string of unexplained baby deaths on the post.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A young child was found dead at Fort Bragg over the weekend, but officials said they don't believe the death is linked to a string of unexplained baby deaths on the post.
The unidentified child was about 18 months old, officials said. The cause of death hasn't yet been determined.
Twelve children under age 2 died in military housing on Fort Bragg between early 2007 and early 2011. The Army and the Consumer Product Safety Commission tested the housing for various problems but could find no environmental link to the deaths, so the Army closed the investigation into the deaths.
