Today@NCCapitol (June 29): Second Senate budget vote scheduled

Senators will take a second vote on the state budget. Committees are scheduled to continue working on legislation in advance of a possible Saturday adjournment.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Good morning and welcome to Today@NCCapitol for June 29. Here's what's going on around the state legislature:

WINDING DOWN: After saying Monday that he believed the General Assembly session would last past July 4, House Speaker Tim Moore said Tuesday that leaders are eyeing a Saturday adjournment.

"It may be possible we would wrap up session this week," Moore, R-Cleveland, told fellow members of the House, quickly stressing there were "no guarantees."

SENATE: When the Senate holds a voting session Wednesday afternoon, members will take a second vote on the state budget. Members are also scheduled to review a bill dealing with when police body camera and dashboard camera video will be released. The chamber will convene at 9:30 a.m., but votes aren't expected until the afternoon.

HOUSE: Members are scheduled to review this year's farm bill as well as other bills emerging from committee Wednesday. The chamber will convene at 9 a.m., but votes aren't expected until the afternoon.

COMMITTEES: The General Assembly publishes full legislative calendar daily. Here's some of what we're keeping an eye on:

House Judiciary IV (10 a.m.): The committee is scheduled to take up a bill that would make changes to how mobile home dealers have to document sales to their customers.

Senate Rules (1:30 p.m.): The Rules Committee takes up the chamber's annual bill making appointments to various boards and commissions.
