Tires slashed on dozens of Raleigh cars

Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh Police are looking for a vandal who slashed tires on almost three dozen cars on Thanksgiving Day in apartment parking lots near Gorman Street and Avent Ferry Road.
Residents of Kensington Park and Gorman Crossings woke Friday to find they were stranded, and the calls to police continued to pile up through the day.
"I was kind of shocked," said Roxie Jin. "I'm really sorry because I wanted to go shopping today."
Jin just put new tires on her Honda in September, only to find them marred by inch-long puncture marks Friday morning.
Axel Gonzalez was among the lucky ones. He car was skipped, but he was still worried. "This is the first time we've seen this sort of action here, so we don't know what to do now," he said.
Raleigh police said they believe the acts are random vandalism.
Trinity Property Management, which manages both of the apartment communities, said they do not have surveillance video that could help in the investigation.
Police asked that any Raleigh residents with information about the attacks call police.
