RALEIGH, N.C. — Time Warner Cable plans to raise its rates next month, but a spokeswoman said most cable television customers won't see any increase on their bills.

Notices recently mailed to customers show most cable services will go up in price about $3 to $4. Standard cable, for example, will increase from $40.50 to $43.71 a month.

Time Warner usually increases rates at the beginning of the year, spokeswoman Melissa Buscher said. About 60 percent of customers won't see an increase, though, because their services are bundled with digital phone service, high-speed Internet service or both, she said.
