Thursday Wrap: Monitoring budget progress

Gov. Pat McCrory signed a continuing resolution to keep the government operating through Sept. 18. Meanwhile, lawmakers say they're feeling good about progress they've made negotiating the budget.

RALEIGH, N.C. — We would love to be able to tell you about all the new agreements budget negotiators reached Thursday, but most of what the @NCCapitol team heard from lawmakers we learned Wednesday.

Gov. Pat McCory signed a continuing resolution keeping the government operating through Sept. 18{{/a}}, even as key lawmakers say budget negotiations have made as more progress in the past 48 hours than in the past six months.

We did learn that some agreement is in the works to save the state's publicly-funded drivers education program{{/a}}.
