Three killed in Smithfield wreck
A third person has died following a crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck on Buffalo Road, near U.S. Highway 70, in Smithfield on Sunday evening, authorities said Monday.
Posted — UpdatedThe motorcyclist, identified as Rickey Perry Mooneyhan, 45, of Selma, and pickup truck driver Ralph Lee Rose, 84, of Smithfield, both died in the wreck around 7:20 p.m., state troopers said.
Jennifer Sabato, 36, of Selma, who was riding on Mooneyhan's motorcycle died early Monday at WakeMed in Raleigh, authorities said.
Troopers said Mooneyhan and Sabato were traveling with a convoy of bikers from Wake County.
No other details about the crash have been released.
