Three injured in Youngsville wreck

Three people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck at John Mitchell Road and N.C. Highway 96 in Youngsville Friday evening, according to the state Highway Patrol.

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. — Three people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck at John Mitchell Road and N.C. Highway 96 in Youngsville Friday evening, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Driver Eleuterio Velasco, 31, was airlifted to WakeMed in Raleigh, and driver Randi Johnson and driver Johnny Bailey were transported to Franklin Regional Medical Center in Louisburg, state troopers said.

Velasco was listed in serious condition Saturday evening.  Johnson and Bailey were treated and released.

Troopers said Saturday that no charges had been filed and that the wreck remained under investigation.

The intersection was blocked temporarily after the wreck.
