Water play at Three Bears Acres
Three Bears Acres, the big outdoor play area in northern Wake County, now has a place to cool off on these hot summer days.

The new area includes a slip and slide, misters, a sand play area and a changing area if you want to pack bathing suits. Three Bears Acre also has a water war zone with lots of water guns.

Three Bears Acres is a really fun place for families. There are tree houses, toboggan slides, a mud kitchen, jumping pillow, small pond with pedal boats and more, plus lots of open space for kids to run and roam and explore.

Its hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday to Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday. It will be open on some Mondays and Tuesdays as well. Toddler Thursdays offer a discount for young visitors and their adult: $10 admission for kids ages 3 to 5 and one parent gets in for free.
