Three arrested in Durham home invasion, robbery

Marcus Satterwhite, 20, Jarried McClain, 20, and Kenneth Lane Charles, 20, all of Palmer Court, were each charged with one count of first-degree burglary and three counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and felony conspiracy.

The victims told police that three men armed with guns and knives pushed their way into the apartment, forced the victims to the floor and stole cash and cell phones.

Satterwhite also faces charges for an armed robbery inn the 2000 block of Chapel Hill Road Sept. 30.

A man told police that he was sitting in his car around 10:45 p.m. when a man opened his car door and put a gun to the back of his head. Meanwhile, a second man took the victim's wallet, cash, phone and keys.

Faith Johnson, 19, of Palmer Street, was also charged with possession of stolen goods in this case.

Investigators said that further charges were pending.

All four suspects were being held in the Durham County Jail. Satterwhite had a $3 million bond, McClain and Charles $2.5 million each, and Johnson $1,500.

McClain was released from prison in January 2008 after serving two months for drug possession with the intent to sell or distribute and for violating his probation, according to state Department of Correction records.

He was sentenced to probation for selling a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor breaking-and-entering and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
