Third man arrested in fatal Fayetteville shooting

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Fayetteville earlier this month.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Fayetteville earlier this month.

Fayetteville police said officers responded to the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle on May 6 in response to a report of shots fired and found Travis Elijah Freeman, 39, of the 900 block of Miller Avenue with gunshot wounds. Freeman was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died.

Travis Lamar Carver, 33, of the 600 block of Lake Avenue in Spring Lake was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

Latoya A. Henderson, 33, of the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle and James E. Jones, 34, of the 5700 block of Holland Street were previously arrested and charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident.
