RALEIGH, N.C. — The Red and White Food and Beverage Festival is this week, along with dinners, classes and cookbook signings to whet your appetite.

Monday

Indie pop band Dum Dum Girls takes the stage at Kings Barcade Monday night. Tickets are $14 in advance and $16 the day of.
Discover Venetian cuisine during a cooking class at Southern Season in Chapel Hill. Registration is $40.

Tuesday

The Red and White Food and Beverage Festival is Tuesday evening. Guests can sample products from NC State alumni who are involved in the food and beverage industry. Admission is $35 for the public and $30 for Alumni Association members. Proceeds benefit Wine to Water.

Wednesday

Enjoy a dinner featuring wines from Marisco Vineyards at the Washington Duke Inn Wednesday evening. Reservations are $69 per person or $59 for Executive Club Members. Dinner only, with no wine, is $49.

Thursday

A new cookbook is creating a lot of buzz. Head to Quail Ridge Books & Music Thursday afternoon to meet Jean Anderson, author of "Mad for Muffins," try muffin samples and have coffee.
A documentary covering the journey of the band Shovels & Rope is screening Thursday night at North Hills. Tickets are $12.
