The week ahead: Beer, culture and Blue men

RALEIGH, N.C. — A fun week is ahead in the Triangle. Here are our picks to get you through the workweek!

Also,  Raleigh Brewing hosts the "Smelly Genes" event from 6-9 p.m. Local experts will help you determine if your DNA impacts your beer preference. The $15 ticket includes five tastings. 

Shen Yun Performing Arts will bring its classical Chinese dance and orchestral company to the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium for two nights. With beautiful and uplifting dance and musical scores, this is a show not to miss. Tickets start at $56. 

This week's Beer and Banjos show at Tir na Nog will feature the very talented Curtis Eller. His high-energy folk and bluegrass performances are always fun. Admission is free. 

Not all wine is created equal and Primal in Durham is showcases a battle tonight between several rare Cabernets. Four courses plus wine pairings for $125. 

The Got to Be NC Competition Dining Series continues with chefs from Tobacco Road and Curt's Cucina in Southern Pines.

Garrison Keillor, host of "A Prairie Home Companion,"  will be at the DPAC for a special show that will include hilarious conversation and storytelling. Tickets start at $35. 

The Blue Man Group starts a three night run at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium tonight. Tickets start at $28. 

50 Shades! The Musical Parody brings the popular book to life at the DPAC tonight. Tickets start at $35.
