The Hill Center, a great local resource for kids with learning differences, will host its first #hillmile One Mile Race and Kids' Dash next month.

The event is April 26 and includes three races - a competitive mile, a recreational mile for runners and walkers and a kids' dash for children 10 and under. There also will be face painting, food trucks and a DJ. It will be held at Durham Academy's Upper School's campus in Durham.

Organizers hope it's an annual event to raise awareness about the center's programs for students with learning differences and attentional issues. All proceeds will provide scholarships for students and teachers.

Fees are between $5 and $25. The Hill Center's website has more information.
