Teens killed in Wayne County wreck
Two Mount Olive teenagers died in a head-on collision southeast of Goldsboro Sunday evening, state troopers said. Their deaths bring to 17 the total number of people killed in wrecks on North Carolina roads since last Sunday.
Posted — UpdatedTroopers said that Lisa Marie Myers, 17, was driving a vehicle west on Stevens Mill Road, near Mill Creek Road, around 6:30 p.m. She went left of the center line, and her vehicle collided with an oncoming truck.
Myers and her passenger, Tyler Brewer, 15, both died, troopers said.
The four people in the truck were injured, but none of the injuries was life-threatening.
Troopers are investigating the cause of the wreck. Myers was not wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown if Brewer was, troopers said.
