Teen wanted in rash of home break-ins surrenders
A Hope Mills teen wanted in a rash of home break-ins surrendered to detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Monday morning.

Investigators believe that Jabesh Clarence Reid, 17, of 2709 Daniel Boone Lane, belonged to a group of young men who stole electronics, TVs and jewelry from homes in southeastern Cumberland County. He admitted to belonging a gang and goes by "Jay-Rock," investigators said.
Reid faces multiple counts of breaking-and-entering, larceny after breaking-and-entering, possession of stolen goods and conspiracy. Previous attempts by detectives to talk to Reid's parents about his surrender had failed.
Four other suspects have been arrested in the break-ins.
Reid was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $11,000 unsecured bond. A magistrate has ruled that he will be able to sign himself out of jail and be released into the custody of his parents later Monday.
His first court appearance is set for Tuesday.
Reid is serving 18 months of probation after being convicted of assault inflicting serious injury March 2, according to state Department of Correction records.
