<b>HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.</b> — A Chapel Hill teen died Thursday evening in a single-car crash east of Hillsborough, authorities said.

David Alexander Mayse, 19, was northbound on New Sharon Church Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. when he lost control of his car while trying to pass another vehicle, authorities said. The car went off the road less than a mile north of the Walker Road intersection and hit a tree.
