Teen killed, another injured in Robeson County car crash

A single-car accident Wednesday killed one teenager and left another seriously injured near the Robeson County town of St. Pauls.

SAINT PAULS, N.C. — A single-car accident Wednesday killed one teenager and left another seriously injured.

The accident happened on McRainey Road outside the Robeson County town of St. Pauls.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Emily Hagens, 16, a junior at St. Pauls High School, lost control of her vehicle ran off the road, hit a telephone guy wire, overcorrected and hit a tree.

Bobby Willis, a 16-year-old passenger who also attended St. Pauls High School, died at the scene.

Hagens was transported to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and was in critical condition Thursday.

Authorities haven't said what caused the accident or if Hagens faces charges.
