DURHAM, N.C. — Sophisticated. Vibrant. Elite. These are just a few words that describe TASTE 2016, presented by Johnson Lexus. The three-day food festival happens April 21-23 in Durham. This sumptuous event brings together the very best that the North Carolina food scene has to offer, from award-winning chefs to imaginative beverage-makers. And now you can taste it all in one place.

Talking about TASTE the Event, the Huffington Post said, “Durham proved once again what an amazing food city it is.” And the rest of the area isn’t far behind. In conjunction with some of the most creative and exclusive restaurants from the area, TASTE the Event is one of the best foodie events of the year. Where else can you enjoy food and drinks from all these places in one spot?

Here’s the full TASTE 2016 lineup:
April 21: Grand Taste Experience – Enjoy the culinary experience of the year! Taste 50 of the best dishes and beverages this area has to offer at this signature event at the Durham Armory. Come enjoy a sophisticated evening with cocktails, caviar, and, of course, a live band!
April 22: All in the (Nana’s) Family – Join us at the Rickhouse as we celebrate the legacy of renowned Durham chef Scott Howell and his iconic restaurant, Nana’s. Enjoy a locally farmed, four-course meal that will have you falling in love with Nana’s all over again. The menu will be created by chefs trained under Howell, including Dan Ferguson of The Original Q Shack, Seth Kingsbury of Pazzo’s, and Tom Ferguson, Tim Youngblood, and Brian Wiles — all of Rise Biscuits & Donuts. Specialty cocktails will be created by Daniel Sartain from Bar Virgile — another one of Scott Howell’s Durham hotspots — using gin and liqueurs from Durham Distillery.
April 23: Family Fun Day at Maple View – Gather the kids — and your BBQ aficionados! — and head to Hillsborough’s Maple View Farm — come rain or shine — for an activity-filled family fun day at the farm! There will be hayrides, live music from Back Porch Orchestra and great local barbecue. Don’t miss out on locally brewed beer, face painting, and fun (and short!) educational classes for the kiddos about our local agriculture and dairy. Also, let’s not forget Maple View ice cream!
