LEXINGTON, N.C. — A barbecue restaurant where dozens of people contracted salmonella did not re-open Monday as planned.

Tarheel Q in Lexington has been linked to almost 200 cases of people falling ill after eating there between June 6 and 21. Diners from 14 North Carolina counties and six states have reported symptoms, and on Monday, a national law firm filed lawsuits on behalf of five of the customers.
