WRAL reporter Tara Lynn loves dogs, which makes her the perfect person to lead Team WRAL in the Wake County SPCA's K9-3K this Saturday.

I recently got to spend the afternoon with Tara and her dog, Baxter. We went to Cameron Village for lunch at Café Caturra. Baxter spent most of the meal with his head on my lap staring up at me with those eyes! I finally gave him a potato chip, which he inhaled!

Then, we went for a nice walk around Lake Johnson, where Baxter enjoyed walking into the water and exploring.

Baxter was able to convert former cat person Tara into a dog fan as well. Tara said she grew up with cats, with one even walking her to the school bus each day.

Baxter's story (He was abandoned by a family with six children. They left him in the backyard when they moved.) inspired Tara to get more involved with the SPCA of Wake County, where she volunteers as a photographer. Her pictures are so cute and they help these animals find their forever homes.
