Suspected gunman arrested in Fayetteville apartment shooting

Cedric Darnell Williams, 25, of the 1300 block of Shaw Road, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, two counts of felony conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and breaking and entering.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man wanted by police in connection with a shooting at a Fayetteville apartment complex was arrested and charged Monday.

Cedric Darnell Williams, 25, of the 1300 block of Shaw Road, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, two counts of felony conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and breaking and entering.

Police said that on Dec. 11, Williams forced his way into an apartment at 233 Law Road and shot Jessica Patrice Dudley, 25, and Rosa Liguetta Barfield, 25. Both women were treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Sharon Denise Jones, 44, of the 1300 block of Shaw Road, and Dominique Latrece Rush, 22, of the 100 block of Lenox Place Circle, were previously taken into custody and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, two counts of felony conspiracy and breaking and entering in connection with the crime.

Williams was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under $1,225,000 secured bond.
