FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police said Wednesday evening that they had arrested a man who they believe robbed a Fayetteville bank earlier in the day.

A man walked into the RBC Bank branch at 454 Ramsey St. at about 11 a.m. and demanded money, police said. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running through a cemetery towards Grove View Terrace.

Officers tracked the robber to an area near the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens, and they found him hiding in the woods there shortly before 5:30 p.m., police said.
