Suspect in Pitt County Amber Alert case due in court
A man accused of kidnapping his young daughter will appear in court Monday morning.

Authorities said Devine Exum, 29, stabbed and sexually assaulted his former girlfriend before taking their 2-year-old daughter from a Pitt County apartment Thursday. The state issued an Amber Alert in an effort to find the child.
Hours later, Exum surrendered to authorities in Fuquay-Varina. He was transferred from Wake County to the Pitt County jail, where he remained under a $650,000 secured bond early Monday.
The child was reunited with her mother, who is recovering from her injuries.
