Suspect in jewelry heist arrested

A Nash County man wanted in the theft of 70 rings from a Kmart in Rocky Mount two weeks ago has been arrested in Zebulon, police said Wednesday.

ZEBULON, N.C. — A Nash County man wanted in the theft of 70 rings from a Kmart in Rocky Mount two weeks ago has been arrested in Zebulon, police said Wednesday.

Thomas Allen Moore Jr., 55, of 2345 Red Oak Road in Nashville, was arrested Sunday in Zebulon. He was charged with felony larceny and had four other outstanding warrants against him, police said.

A man approached a jewelry case in the Kmart at 720 Sutters Creek on Dec. 2, jimmied the locks and stole rings valued at $20,000, police said.

Moore's bond was set at $23,000.
