Suspect in Durham Shooting Surrenders

Durham police are looking for a man in connection with a weekend shooting that left one man in critical condition.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man wanted by Durham police in connection with a weekend shooting surrendered to police Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, the shooting took place shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday on Harvard Avenue. Police said Mark Ingram was shot in the torso and was critically wounded.

Investigators charged Vernon Taylor with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Taylor and Ingram are acquaintances, authorities said.

Taylor surrendered to police Monday.
